Partnership with Revive DNA to Support Lifelong Brain Health and Wellbeing

Revive DNA, a global leader in personalised genetic performance and nutrition optimisation, is proud to announce a new partnership with Rugby Players Ireland (RPI) to support the RPI Brain Health Initiative.

The collaboration aims to raise awareness of potential long-term brain health challenges experienced by rugby players – both during their careers and after retirement – and to provide a pathway for improved lifestyle support, scientific understanding, and better health outcomes for the rugby community.

As evidenced by recent international efforts to establish brain health services for retired rugby players, Ireland leads the world with its pioneering Brain Health Service, developed in partnership with World Rugby and Rugby Players Ireland. The initiative offers retired players free access to cognitive assessments, education, and advice on factors that support healthy cognitive ageing and long-term brain health.

Revive DNA brings its expertise in genetic science, personalised nutrition, and recovery optimisation to this important cause. The company’s work helps athletes and former athletes understand how their unique genetic profile influences brain health, nutrition, recovery, inflammation, and metabolic resilience – vital factors that can play a role in maintaining cognitive function throughout life.

“We are honoured to partner with Rugby Players Ireland on such a forward-thinking initiative,” said Mark Notton, CEO of Revive DNA. “Our approach combines cutting-edge genetics, nutrigenomics, and personalised lifestyle protocols to support athletes in maximising not only performance on the field but long-term health off it. Brain health is a critical, often overlooked component of former players’ wellbeing, and we hope this collaboration will empower players with the insights and tools they need to live healthier lives long after their rugby careers have ended.”

Simon Keogh, CEO of Rugby Players Ireland, added: “Player welfare has always been at the heart of everything we do, and the Brain Health Initiative embodies our mission to support players during their careers beyond the game. We are delighted to work with Revive DNA to increase awareness and access to robust, science-based insights that help players engage proactively with their long-term health and wellbeing, on and off the field This partnership represents a shared commitment to our past, present, and future rugby community.”

The partnership will focus on raising awareness of the Brain Health Initiative, encouraging former and current players to engage with testing and support services, and contributing to broader research efforts that help the sport evolve in the way it protects and supports its athletes. Through outreach, education, and collaboration, the goal is to help current and former players understand the role genetics and lifestyle play in brain health and to promote healthier ageing across the rugby family.
