Inaugural Past Players Padel Tournament

On Saturday 5th July, Rugby Players Ireland were delighted to welcome 32 past players to the inaugural Past Players Padel Tournament at House of Padel in Dublin. A fantastic turnout that brought together players from across eras, provinces, and disciplines for an energising day of sport, connection, and craic.
The morning kicked off with Padel Americano, a fun and inclusive format that allowed players of all experience levels to mix, compete, and reconnect. As the games unfolded, the atmosphere was full of friendly competition and laughter, while rugby matches streamed live in the background for those keeping an eye on both courts and scores.
More than just a sporting event, the day was a celebration of shared experience and ongoing community. From ice baths and saunas to catch-ups over coffee, the event reminded us all of the strength and camaraderie of the rugby network, long after the final whistle.
A special thanks to the Global Rugby Players Foundation for their support of RPI’s Beyond the Game programme, which continues to provide meaningful opportunities for past players to stay engaged, healthy, and connected beyond their playing careers. We look forward to making this an annual highlight!
